Cholie, first of all I'm sleepy so I'm probably going to sound like a lunatic in writing this, but then I never let that stop me in the past. So thank you so much for this. I knew you were doing something, obviously, I just didn't expect this. Somehow it didn't really register with me that it would be like this... I'm not sure what I thought, but needless to say I'm pleasantly surprised. The first time I saw you do something in this style I knew I liked it, and I'll tell you why.

Throughout my friendship with you I've learned that you're very perceptive... your description here proves that. Honestly, your description caught me off guard, in a good way. In fact I probably looked like a deer in the headlights when I read it, but it's reassuring to me now and I'm really glad you wrote it.
As I sort-of mentioned a while ago, and am willing to argue now, I really think you're a poet. It is more evident in who you are, and the things you do, than any random verse someone may write on a given day, just as some people could write a thousand poems and they still wouldn't be poets. Meanwhile here you managed to draw a picture where I was able to look at it and if I didn't know you I still would have been able to tell that you're a poet... that sort of creativity and perceptiveness is just expressed through what you do. And just as well as you've always been able to capture and communicate thoughts and ideas and words, like you did in this picture, about other people (and sometimes troublesome little rodents) you were equally successful at capturing yourself with this style... it has so many layers but they come together so smoothly here. It's very sophisticated, it makes sense. The opposite of me right now, you know? It's sort of peaceful and otherworldly. If this is going to be a recurring style for you, and I hope it is, it's really fantastic and so are you.
Thanks for doing this at all, as it's a treat to look at, it made me smile, and that's without it even being a gift to me specifically. For that, double-thanks I guess--some day I hope to return the favor, or at least make sure that I earned it!
