when did gray powder your hair?
when did crows-feet dust the corners
of your eyes like cobwebs?
when did tiny etch-lines form
at the corners of your lips?
when did the faintest of wrinkles
form into your brow like dry earth?
the years have been whispering
over you and i've not noticed
till now.

i'm sorry...

_{I'm not quite sure where the inspiration for this piece came from. I was just thinking about the passing of time and how sometimes we take things too quickly and we get caught up in life that we don't even realize how it's affecting the people we hold most near and dear.}
